Privacy Policy — FingerOs

FingerOs is built by an independent developer
based in South Africa. This policy explains
exactly what data the app collects, what it
doesn't, and how it's used.

The short version: FingerOs runs almost entirely
on your device. Very little leaves it.

1. WHAT FINGEROS ACCESSES

Accessibility Service
FingerOs uses Android's Accessibility Service to:
• Detect touch gestures on the edges of
your screen
• Identify which app is currently open
to enable app-specific gesture profiles

FingerOs uses this access only to make gestures
work. It never reads what is on your screen,
never captures keystrokes, and never records
what you type, search, or view in any app.

This data is processed entirely on your device
and is never transmitted anywhere.

Overlay Permission
Used to draw the gesture handles and popup
menus over other apps. No data is collected
through this permission.

Usage Statistics
Used to display your recently opened apps in
the task switcher. This data stays on your
device and is never transmitted or stored
by FingerOs.

Write Settings
Used only to control screen brightness through
the brightness slider gesture. No data is
collected through this permission.

Battery Optimization
Used to keep the gesture service running
in the background. No data is collected.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

On-Device Only (never transmitted)
• Your gesture configurations and profiles
• App preferences and settings
• Trial start date
• Persona chosen during onboarding

These are stored in your device's local storage.
Uninstalling FingerOs deletes all of this
immediately.

Android Auto Backup
Android may back up your app preferences to
your Google account's private backup storage
as part of Android's standard backup system.
This backup is controlled by Android, encrypted,
and only accessible to you. You can disable
this in your Android backup settings.

Anonymous Analytics (optional)
If you choose to enable analytics during
onboarding, we collect:
• How often gesture types are used
(counts only, no content)
• Which features are enabled or disabled
• App open and session duration
• Crash reports
• Onboarding completion steps

We never collect which apps you use, what
is on your screen, or any information that
could identify you personally.

Analytics are powered by Google Firebase
Analytics. You can opt out at any time in
FingerOs Settings → Privacy.

Purchases
When you purchase God-Mode or the Arcade
Pack, the transaction is handled entirely
by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage
your purchase entitlements. RevenueCat
receives your Google Play purchase token
to verify your subscription status.

We never see your payment details.

3. WHAT WE NEVER COLLECT

in other apps
✗  Keystrokes, passwords, or text input
✗  Location data
✗  Contacts, messages, or call logs
✗  Photos, camera, or microphone
✗  Browser history
✗  Any data for advertising purposes

FingerOs is a gesture navigation tool.
It has no reason to collect any of the
above and does not.

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell your data.
We do not share your data with advertisers.
We do not share your data with any third
party except the services listed above,
and only for the specific purposes described.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

You can:
• Opt out of analytics anytime in
Settings → Privacy
• Delete all local data by uninstalling
the app
• Disable Android backup for FingerOs
in Android Settings → Backup
• Request information about what data
we hold by contacting us

If you are in the European Union or South
Africa, you have additional rights under
GDPR and POPIA respectively, including
the right to access, correct, or delete
your personal data.

7. CHILDREN

FingerOs is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. SECURITY

Gesture configurations and preferences are
stored in Android's standard app storage,
which is sandboxed and inaccessible to other
apps. Purchase entitlement verification uses
encrypted connections to RevenueCat's servers.

9. CHANGES

If this policy changes materially, we will
notify users through an in-app notice and
update the date at the top of this page.
